Publisher's summary

A demon unleashed. A queen restored. A quest into a realm of fire and death...

The Burning Lands once again beckon Vicky as she and Zola fight to release Tessrian on the realm of the fire demons. Traveling aboard an ancient ship known as the Bone Sails, the infamous pirate Graybeard takes the helm. But all is not what it seems.

Together, they must fulfill Vesik’s promise on their journey to obtain an ancient and powerful coin that can restore the power of a Titan and sever the magic of the Mad King. Time is running short, and failure will shatter the world around them.

But the Burning Lands have sunk their spindly claws into Vicky once more. Danger lurks around every corner after the fall of Prosperine left the realm in chaos. Completing their quest falls on the shoulders of a forgotten destroyer, a necromancer’s master, and a pirate who’s stolen history might prove the end of them all...

I needed the humor in this!

FINALLY! I have missed the humor of this series SO MUCH. Yes, it's a serious situation but, if felt SO GOOD to laugh with these characters again!

Graybeard has always been a favorite of mine in this series. He's always sassy and full of piss and vinegar. With so much dark, this book was NEEDED. And, oh the surprises!!!

I loved that we got to see a bit of Graybeard's past. I loved that Mike and Sarah were back. Lots of surprises in this one. The humor that broke up the heaviness of this series has made this book a favorite of mine.

Looking forward to the next book.

The narrator is just perfect for this series!

Just keeps getting better!

This is the 14th books in Eric Asher's Vesik series, and I have to admit, that I'm am completely consumed by this series. These novellas are a brilliant addition to the series, allowing the reader to "fill in the blanks" in many of the character's backgrounds. The story continues to build, and the drama grows with every new release. While I will forever miss the original narrator, I have to admit that Erin Moon as taken Zola to a new level, and if possible adds even more personality to an already incredible character. Yes, I love these books. They are my companions in the car going to and from our many doctor and therapy appointments. I can't think of a better "crew" to share our time with!

Wow!

That’s the only way to describe this latest chapter in the Vesik series. The last 5 minutes? Nud’s balls! 😱

Love this unfolding

I'm really enjoying how this is unfolding. Zola, Vickie, Sam and company are truly brave and are the best friends anyone could ask for.

Big adventure in the Burning Lands

A pivotal entry in the Books of the Dead. In this installment, we go on a big adventure. Unlike most of the other recent books, this story is more of an ensemble cast. I loved seeing the team together again, and I this story is one of my favorites in the overall series. Erin Moon does a great job carrying forward William Dufris’s voices.

Fantabulous writing and narrating!

AAAHHHH... I don't know how much longer I can hold it together. This installment was quite a nail biter. Will they survive long enough to save Damien?

I love that the author is delving into other characters' backstories while completing their quest to find an anchor to transfer the blood knot and ultimately try to save Damien but... I NEED THE ENDING! I am on the edge of my seat. I love the series, the people, the world, and one the hand I don't want it to end but I can't take this abuse. I need to know how it all ends.

Erin Moon, the narrator, is fantabulous at tearing this story from your speakers and bring it to life.

Set sail on an adventure!

Every time I think Eric Asher’s writing can’t get any better, he manages to surprise me and top his previous book. The Book Of The Sails kept me glued to my Kindle and on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Watching almost this group of friends work together to save Vicky, Sam and Damian is completely absorbing. I’m so grateful to my friend who told me I had to read the Vesik books. You were right Melinda!

Erin Moon’s narration adds the perfect finishing touch. Graybeard sounds exactly like a pirate in a parrot’s body should.
